With a strong community focus, we relocated the local pump track to maintain youth access to recreational spaces and supported local businesses by funding signage to promote continued access. Our long-standing partnership with the developer and extensive experience in complex hillside construction ensures consistent delivery of quality outcomes. As part of our commitment to environmental best practice, we were proud to jointly receive the 2023 Stormwater Superhero Award for innovative erosion and sediment control. Set in an area already impacted by past earthquake damage and ongoing disruptions, we prioritised clear communication and community care—providing regular updates, maintaining access, and supporting local initiatives. The project also involved careful environmental management, including remediation of coal tar contamination near Dudley Creek. Our team built strong community relationships, leasing land from a local church to streamline operations and volunteering time for a creek cleanup and preschool pathway repairs. Earthworks & Paving successfully delivered signal installation and intersection upgrades at the busy Gardiners Rd / Sawyers Arms Rd intersection in Harewood. This high-traffic project required meticulous planning, effective traffic management, and close coordination with utility providers Chorus and Orion to ensure minimal disruption. Works included new traffic signals, intersection modifications, upgraded drainage, streetlighting, kerbs, and pathways—all designed to improve safety and traffic flow for motorists and pedestrians.
